One thing I have learned of late is to be skeptical of everything the federal government says.
A spy satellite that the US launched in 2006 is falling back to earth. The government describes the satellite as "a sophisticated and secret imaging sensor."
Right.
And for the first time in US History, the Navy is going to attempt to destroy the satellite before it enters the atmosphere because "experts" are concerned that the vehicle will not completely burn up upon re-entry, and that "hydrazine," the fuel that the satellite has on board, can be a health hazard.
Right.
Let me tell you as a chemist, that Hydrazine may be toxic, but not much more than Gasoline. The MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for both show that each is hazardous to human life. But Hazardous enough to have to blow it out of the sky?
To view the MSDS for each click:
http://www.albina.com/Fuel/ChevronRUGasMSDS.htm for Gasoline and
https://fscimage.fishersci.com/msds/11040.htm for Hydrazine.
I think the government is looking for the population to be OK with the US shooting it down. They therefore have put out the scare that the Hydrazine is hazardous.
First, the tank holding the Hydrazine will probably burn up in the atmosphere. If it doesn't, then there is a good chance that the tank will make it to the surface of the Earth. And, that be the case, it is only a 40 inch tank. That means, if it survived re-entry, it is going to survive the bounce!
Next, if the tank does reach Earth's surface, where? For some reason, we are able to track nuts and bolts in orbit, but NASA has not been able to pinpoint where the satellite will land. Hmmmm....what's wrong with this picture?
We can send a man to the moon (theoretically) but we can't calculate where this damn satellite is going to land?
We can track earth orbit debris as small as a screw, but we can't track this satellite's decaying orbit?
Seems to me that NASA knows exactly where this thing is going to land, and, they don't want the contents of the satellite being picked through by our enemies.
Bank on it!
