John Edwards: Americans Should 'Sacrifice' SUVs for Environment

Dear John,

You hit my heart with your plea for Americans to give up their SUV's to help save the environment.

Its good to hear that you are consistent with the needs of the middle class working people, and that you want to help individuals like me with healthcare, pulling the troops out of Iraq, and helping me pay my mortgage.

What's even more important, Senator Edwards, is that you really look great all the time, with that $400 hair cut, that wonderful wife of yours, and that huge mansion.  I bet it costs you a lot of money to heat that home in the winter!  Whew!

But tell me sir, what is it any of your business to determine what people drive?  Did you know the SUV is the safest vehicle on the road today?  How many lives does that save?

Did you know that the mere ownership of an SUV helps people buy more expensive things at home depot, and drive it home with them?  That must really support the economy.

And I wonder, sir, if you too are prepared to give up those bullet proof black limo SUV's -- you know, the customized Chevy Suburbans that you and your security team seem to use all of the time for your protection?

Tell you what, Mr. Senator.  I will give up my H2 when you start driving around in a Prius.
