Iconic Daredevil Evel Knievel Dies at 69

Good bye, Evel.  God be with you.

As I reflect my childhood years of the '70's, I can only remember all of the great times I had playing with my Evel Knievel doll and motorcycle in our driveway.  Mount him on his bike, pull the strip, and away he went, leaping over soup cans, the cat, and my dad's playboy books.

If it weren't for Evel, I never would have know the useful purposes of gasoline and matches.  For it was him that I lit on fire so many times, his rubberized body became a mass of goo, and his white riding jumpsuit a burnt crisp.

We have lost a legend.  God Speed, Evel Knievel.
