I am a lazy American. I have listened non-stop to conservative talk radio for the past six years and yet I have only recently been moved to read the Constitution. Motivation was also instilled in me by watching the documentary on John Adams which I strongly recommend.
The Constitution was not written in a vacuum. It was written in direct response to the abuses of authoritarian rule. Many of the clauses seem quaint in our civilized age yet each word was carefully chosen and had a purpose.
One such sentence is in Section 9 Article 1:
‘No Bill of Attainder or ex post Facto Law shall be passed.’
I knew in general what both of those cryptic descriptions meant but I will admit that I had to turn to Wikipedia for a thorough explanation. The ex post Facto is the simplest as it means that no law can be passed and applied retroactively. This would bring into question the legality of the retroactive tax that Bill Clinton and his group imposed during his reign of lawlessness. I still expect the current administration to try and retroactively tax everything.
The Bill of Attainder takes a bit more study. It started under English law and was first used in the 1300’s. It allowed the King to declare an individual guilty of any crime that they thought relevant and then take all his property and titles and have him executed without trial. Understandably it was universally feared and hated.
Bills of Attainder were used against American colonists before the revolution. Our young Republic used Bills of Attainder against the British Loyalists to take their stuff and kick them out after the revolution.
I only bring it up as the enemies of our country are using the laws of our land against us. It turns out that ACORN is suing to the Supreme Court for the right to continue their funding as they feel that the law striping their funding was a ‘Bill of Attainder’.
Additionally, each state was required to include a provision against the use of Bills of Attainder in their own Constitutions. Wisconsin’s law adds that the legislature cannot negate any legal contract. If the Federal Constitution had had that clause then the abomination of the GM debacle would not have occurred.
Nobel Peace Prize
Way at the bottom of Section 9 of Article 1 of the Constitution there is a clause…
“No title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince of foreign State.”
Since according to Wikipedia “Alfred Nobel's will stated that the prize should be awarded by a committee of five people elected by the Norwegian Parliament.’
What I take this to mean is that Mr. Obama should not have received the Nobel Peace Prize without first gaining permission from Congress.
This is yet another example of the current administration ignoring the letter of the law as they feel that they are above all of that. The Constitution of the United States is for the little people not members of the world community.
The entire effort of this administration is to dismantle the Constitution of the United States. Their goal is to inflict so much damage so quickly that no one will be able to undo the damage. This is all in the effort to install leadership from the top. The illuminati or glitterati that elect themselves the arbiters of all that is right and good in the world believe that only they are fit to rule.
Our Founding Fathers were inspired by God. They had been forged in the furnace of incredible injustice and rather than respond with petulant retribution they rose above the motivations of normal men and created something truly transcendent. It is impossible to underestimate the inspiration that is the Constitution of the United States.
It is past time that all men of goodwill turn their attention to the welfare of the country. A terrible evil is seeping through our Republic. It is time to throw open the windows and doors of government and air out the mold and corruption. We are the country. Our country is the greatest in the history of mankind. We can stand as a beacon to the entire world of justice and as triumph of free people to govern themselves or we can withdraw from the field. We are envied and hated by people around the world because we illuminate their shortcomings
Demand accountability of our so called ‘lawmakers’. We the People are the lawmakers. We gave them our power but we can reclaim it, it is our Birthright.
