Obama Weight Loss?

Ramadan (Arabic: رمضانRamaḍān, Arabic pronunciation: [rɑmɑd̪ˤɑːn]) (also written Ramazan, Ramzan, Ramadhan, Ramdan, Ramadaan) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, having sex, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured; from dawn until sunset.[1] Fasting is meant to teach the Muslim patience, modesty and spirituality. Ramadan is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God (Arabic: الله‎) and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds. As compared to the solar calendar, the dates of Ramadan vary, moving forward about ten days each year as it is a moving holiday depending on the moon. Ramadan was the month in which the first verses of the Qur'an were said to be revealed to the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.[2] (from wikipedia.com)

Ramadan occurs based on a revolving calendar, and this past Ramadan was August 22 through September 19.

Does anyone find it unusual that several articles (google “obama weight loss”) were written shortly after the end of Ramadan about how much weight the POTUS had lost?

Obama himself claimed in an article, “my weight fluctuates.”

Really Mr. President?  You are a model of health, as far as I can see.  Your height to weight ratio appears to be in the norm.  Usually, people who have weight fluctuations are larger people, or those with metabolic disorders like Diabetes.

Mr. President, you don’t appear to be ill, and you don’t appear to be “over weight” by any stretch of the imagination.

Why is it that you seem to be much thinner after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan?

Are you fasting, Mr. President?
