Bush promises drones for border security

"We're going to use drones to be able to help enforce the border in rural Texas and in rural New Mexico and rural Arizona. See, it's one thing to add agents, but if you look at the size of this border, you can't add enough agents," Bush said.

 

That's what our President had to say about the protection of our borders.  Mr. President, let me ask you a question.  Do you realize that the terrorist threat we face from our Al-Qaeda enemy is one that is probably going to be bigger than the one we saw on September 11?  Why?  Because the terrorists will want to progressively make their killing field bigger and more devastating than the last.  They are not going to spend years formulating a plan that is less than spectacular.  They are going to have to "UP" their last performance.

 

So, lets calculate the value of the nearly 3000 lives that were lost.  On top of that, the cost to our economy.  And, then lets factor in how much we paid to clean up the mess.

 

Mr. President, isn't it worth perhaps an extra billion or two, to provide JOBS to Americans who need them, and hire Americans to more adequately baby sit the border that you claim is too large?

 

How much would that cost?  How much is that cost versus what the next attack is going to cost us?  How much will that cost, to put a man every 100 yards on the border?  Wow, what a concept.  Lets do the math:

 

The Mexican / US border is about 2000 miles (1,951 according to Wikipedia).  That's a total of 34,337 football fields (100 yards).  I know that I can shoot an M16 with a scope and hit a running Mexican at 100 yards, no problem.  So if you place one border cop every 100 yards, they effectively only have to cover 50 yards to either side of them.  That, Mr. President, is an easy shot for my pregnant wife with same said gun.

 

So, lets say we need 3 shifts to run 24 hours a day, and an additional shift to cover weekends and holidays.  I figure that then to be 4 x 34,337 or 137,000 jobs.

 

Where do we find 137,000 people for this new patrol?  Hell, that's easy!  Welfare recipients!  Get the lazy asses off their fat collagen asses, force them to work or lose their benefits, and Voila, you have 137,000 new federal employees, at $9.00 an hour (which puts them above the poverty level), and even throw in health benefits!  Do the math.  That's $10.8 billion a year payroll, not taking into consideration how much you will save not having to hand out food stamps!  (hell, I even know of about 11 Million ILLEGALS that would KILL to work for $9.00 an hour in exchange for citizenship!).

 

The stock market alone lost 1.2 Trillion in value that week of 9/11.  10.8 Billion is a piss in a lake!

 

If you can see it, Mr. President, you will realize that it is NOT an impossible task.  It IS possible, if you really wanted it to happen.  How much is human life worth to you?  How much is the future of the USA worth to you?

 

Its worth $10.8 billion a year, sir.
