Tape: Bush, Chertoff Warned Before Katrina

I am so sick and tired of hearing these liberal pundants continue to pound President Bush and his administration about not acting on warnings of the Katrina disaster.

 

Today we have footage that has mysteriously left the hands of congress and fallen into the hands of the liberal media, depicting President Bush as unsympathetic to the pending disaster that became Katrina.

 

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- In dramatic and sometimes agonizing terms, federal disaster officials warned President Bush and his homeland security chief before Hurricane Katrina struck that the storm could breach levees, put lives at risk in New Orleans' Superdome and overwhelm rescuers, according to confidential video footage."

 

Ok, so he was warned.  We, and I mean the Army Corps of Engineers, Mayors, Government officials, past presidents (ahem, Mr. Clinton, please stand up), and weather experts, have all known, for DECADES, the problem that New Orleans would have if a Category five storm hit dead on.

 

And all of a sudden, its President Bush's fault he didn't act 3 days before the storm hit.

 

Does anyone know how long it would take to re-engineer the levee system in New Orleans?  Do these liberal whackos think that in the three days prior to the hit that the federal government was going to fix the problem?  Do these liberal whackos really think that there was a damn thing that President Bush could do before the storm hit?

 

My god.  It would take YEARS -- Y * E * A * R * S for the civil engineers to DESIGN the damn system let along build it!

 

What the heck do you liberals think was going to happen?  Was Bush to wave his magic wand and create Cat 5 resistant levees?

 

"A top hurricane expert voiced "grave concerns" about the levees and then-Federal Emergency Management Agency chief Michael Brown told the president and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff that he feared there weren't enough disaster teams to help evacuees at the Superdome."

 

What does the media expect Bush to do?  Run around the White House screaming "The Sky is Falling?!!!"

 

No, he did exactly what he did on 911.  Do you remember him sitting in that school reading to those kids when he was given the message of the 911 attack?  The media and the democrats have critisized Bush for being calm and collected instead of making a scene.  He sat there, collected his thoughts, and without creating a panic, finished what he was doing.  That, people, takes courage, leadership, and a steadfast desire to bring order to chaos.

 

So there were not enough disaster teams.  Ok, and?  Do you know how hard it is to hire ONE employee for a company let alone THOUSANDS?  And Bush was supposed to again, wave his magic wand and make appear prepared emergency crews ready for the disaster to strike?  IT TAKES YEARS to develop this kind of infrastructure!!!!!

 

People, we have a serious problem in this country.  The blind are led by the blind, and the media does nothing but contribute to the chaos.  Do you know that my mother actually thinks that President Bush should be impeached because of those poor people in New Orleans were not warned?  Was it President Bush's responsibility to warn?  Or was it the Chocolate Cookie of a Mayor, Ray Nagin, that should have ordered an evacuation a week before he did?

 

My guess is the latter.

 

Let me be the first to warn you that there IS a storm ahead.  It is a storm that is going to destroy this country and all that we have because of lies, innuendo, and nasty politics.  Its the liberal media who report nothing but bad, and never good.  And, its the sheepish people, who, like my mother, are led by the fear the democratic party imparts upon our society.
